Membership Terms

By requesting a membership of our vibrant community of artists through our website "dafaus.org,” which is an integral part of the Diverse Advocacy Foundation for the Arts (DAFA), or any of our state-branded sites (RI, MA, CT, NY, etc.), you commit to upholding our code of conduct and fostering respect and professionalism in all interactions. 

We encourage responsible use of communication channels to promote a supportive environment. Intellectual property rights are respected, allowing artists to retain ownership while granting us the right to display and promote their creations. We prioritize your privacy and data security, handling personal information in accordance with our privacy policy.

We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance. By embarking on this artistic journey with us, you contribute to a dynamic and inclusive space that celebrates and preserves the essence of the fine arts.

Membership details

Membership Details

1. Details:
   a. Membership Type: Artist Member
   b. Effective Date: On the date we accept your request and inform you of our decision.
   c. Membership Term: As of now, we consider a membership as lifetime, or for as long as the member and/or DAFA decide to keep the membership.

Membership Benefits

2. Benefits:
   a. Access to the organization's online platform for artwork showcase.
   b. Participation in organization-sponsored events, exhibitions, and collaborations.
   c. Inclusion in the organization's promotional materials as a member artist.

Membership Dues

3. Dues:
   a. There is no membership dues as the time and date of this disclosure.

Code of Conduct

4. Conduct:
   a. The Member agrees to abide by the organization's Code of Conduct, promoting a positive, respectful, and inclusive community.

Artwork Submissions

5. Submission:
   a. The Member agrees to submit artworks in accordance with the organization's submission guidelines.
   b. By submitting artworks, the Member grants the organization a non-exclusive license to display, promote, and, if applicable, sell the artworks on the organization's platform.

Ethical Selling Practices

6. Selling Practices:
   a. If engaging in the sale of artworks through our platform, the "member" agrees to adhere to ethical selling practices as outlined by the organization.

Membership Termination

7. Termination:
   a. The Organization reserves the right to terminate the membership for violations of the Code of Conduct or any other policies outlined by the organization.

Your Confidentiality

8. Confidentiality:
   a. The Member agrees to maintain the confidentiality of any sensitive information shared within the organization.

Governing Law

9. Governing:
   a. This Contract shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Rhode Island. Any disputes arising under or in connection with this Contract shall be resolved in accordance with these laws.

Modification to Terms

10. Terms:
   a. The Organization (DAFA) reserves the right to modify or update these terms and conditions. Members will be notified of any changes.
